I was born and raised in Hilo, and returned here 19 years ago to practice law in my beautiful hometown, and am here to stay.  Other attorneys may fly in and out of Hilo, but I believe it is important for a lawyer to live and work in the same town.  Especially for Estate Planning clients, the legal relationship only begins when the documents are drafted and signed.  In 5, 10, 20 years when you really need help, it is important to know that your lawyer is available and accessible.

I offer clients practical and friendly legal representation in three main areas:

  • Estate planning: Working with an attorney to draft your will or trust can save your family unnecessary stress, disputes, and costs at the time of disability or death. Using estate planning tools, I help clients to create an orderly plan, to decide who will handle their affairs, and to decide who will receive your property.
  • Business law: I draft and review contracts and documents relating to business law matters, such as purchase and sale of businesses, the formation of new business entities, such as corporations, limited liability companies (“LLCs”) and partnerships.
  • Real estate: I review and advise clients in the purchase and sale of real estate, ranging from individual homes to large commercial or agricultural properties. I help clients with issues relating to contract formation, drafting leases and development agreements, negotiating terms and providing due diligence review.
